Sania Mirza facing the dilemma of proving "Indian-ness"

Indian Tennis star, Sania Mirza broke down into tears after facing severe criticism from BJP upon  her appointment as a brand ambassador of the newly established Indian state Telangana. BJP has raise strong objections over her loyalty with the country by declaring her as "Daughter in Law of Pakistan" pointing to her marriage with the Pakistani cricket star Shoaib Malik. 

In an interview with the NDTV, Mirza insisted that she is Indian and will be Indian and cautioned that after wedding with a Pakistani, she is still playing under Indian badge. She bursts at BJP for denouncing her appointment as brand ambassador. She told the reporter that she is playing for India from years and years and her services to the Indian image are more than the the BJP illiterate politicians.

“After playing for the country for many years, after saying time and again that I have an Indian passport, after winning medals for India after I got married, don’t know why I have to keep justifying that I am Indian,” said Mirza. The 27 years old star has got a passionate following around the world by becoming the only Indian woman to reach a grand slam competition.

Sasta Aata Ghee Scheme: A very delayed program by the PTI government

The PTI governement in KPK has introduced Sasta Aata Ghee Scheme on the 23rd day of Ramadan. It is a very delayed program as the Ramadhan is approaching to its end and the poor and the needy will never be able to take full benefits as only less than a week is left.
PTI in general is working on politics of agitation and has no value for the poor of the province who had voted for them. Instead of concentrating on the poverty reduction, education and health related policies, they have given full effort to their politics of agitation. They have no value for the people's confidence put over them in general elections. Provinces have got almost full autonomy in controlling the system, but PTI, instead of utilizing that opportunity, beating the drum for every failure against the federal government.  Federal government is not working according to the expectations but their over all performance is better than the PTI government in KPK.

Instead of giving them subsidy on commodities and price control, the PTI government has put the people in long ques in this tough summer Holy Ramadan for a 20kg pack of flour and one kg ghee. If this was outcome for the people, then it was really a bad experience with PTI in KPK.
Moreover, it is noteworthy, last year in Ramadan, CM advisor, Yasin Khalil was given the contract of Sehri and Iftari in the government hospitals and the purpose was to reduce poverty of Yasin Khalil who is running a catering company as well. Interestingly, this time, a flour mill from Aza Khel, Nowshera has won the contract and happened to be a close ally of CM Parvez Khattak.

Politics is a profitable Business in Pakistan

The recent forward bloc in the KPK Provincial Assembly has yet another time proved (Ref: 90s Forward Blocs) that politics is a big business. 14 MPAs of the ruling PTI government put their demands to party chairman by submitting their resignations. Insiders int he PTI claimed that most of the tickets were sold during the last general elections and most of the elected MPAs are of the same category by paying millions of rupees to people in the provincial and central leadership in the hope of getting higher returns once they get elected to the assembly. Currently some of the wealthy contractors with almost no qualification; have become ministers and advisers and most were ignored in the power game which full of money making. This made some MPs annoyed by getting ignored and their reaction is very clear; they want a return on their invested capital in the form of development funds, advisory and ministerial positions. This will guarantee a huge return monetarily on their invested money.

PTI has proved to be a typical traditional Pakistani political party. The Chairman is already hijacked in the Tareen Airline (an aircraft and a chopper dedicated by Jehangir Tareen to IK) as he has lost contact with the workers and supporters. IK has ignored to develop PTI as an ideological party and the result will be PTIs voters can be of anyone in the future. The trailer was given in the by-elections in Mian Wali and Peshawar where PTI lost its voters in a span of three months time.

 Imran Khan skype and google speeches are no more of value as their voters and workers needs them to deliver instead of making noise. The Sehat ka Insaf program, educational reforms, municipality, security and administration of the province are some of the biggest failures of the Khattak government. Even Khattak government has failed to give driving licenses to the people due to the clashes between the traffic police and the transport department which is a mere an executive order issue. From last 6 months, there is no single license issued by the traffic police and the people are getting a very non sense excuse of unavailability of paper for printing the cards while in real they are in tussle with the transport department and the people who get a license from the transport department, it is not accepted by the traffic police.

Same is the case with other departments, there is a complete haphazard like situation with full of confusion. Many projects were delayed for more than six months due to the introduction of consultancy services as monitoring body of the development projects. Now in April, they have issued all the tenders at once in hazardous situation that they itself have no clue of how to spend the current fiscal year budget.

PTI is not only in great pressure as a political organization but their government performance is also poor. In this type of situation, more pressure groups will be developed in the future.

The Don of PTI: Ziaullah Afridi is crossing the limits by Rashid Manzoor

Ziaullah Afridi, the sitting MPA from PK-1 and the adviser to the CM KPK on Minerals and Natural Resources apart from serving as the Focal Person Mega Projects of KPK government has started behaving like a Don in the PTI circles on the basis of sycophancy and wealth. Few days back, he was reported by the party workers to the Dy General Secretary of PTI, Mr. Saifullah Niazi about the misuse of powers and government resources. His brothers were also reported to the high ups of PTI about the illegal use of Afridi's ministry's cars and offices. This has enraged the Don and physically assaulted the ex NA-1 by elections candidate Mr.Gul Badshah. Gul was disgraced in the presence of so many PTI workers and activists. 

This didn't stop here as the illiterate Advisor to the CM KPK for minerals and focal person for mega projects in KPK, has threatened Zafar Khattak, ex- Peshawar district President of PTI. Even his brother tried to attempt on his life in the presence of so many PTI workers near Hayat Abad toll plaza, where the party is going through a Sit-in (Dharna) against NATO supply. So many PTI workers are witnessed, prominent of them was khalid Masood Khan,  to the threats given by Zia's brother and an attempt on Mr. Khattak's life.

PTI's political organization is very weak across the country and when you have powers without established political organization and accountability like KPK, Dons like Ziaullah Afridi will emerge as the key leaders. His only qualification is sycophancy powered by a lot of wealth. The genuine workers are suffering while the sycophants are ruling and enjoying the perks and benefits alongside their families and friends. He has got a very effective shoe polish brush ready to do it for any high ups of PTI and ultimately a qualified and biggest Sycophant in the PTI provincial chapter.

How can a matriculate like Zia Afridi be the focal person for mega projects in KPK?
How can he be an adviser without having any prior experience?
How did he earn a party ticket in one year time of his joining?
Without political experience, how can he has got such a key position like adviser and focal person?

Is PTI barren to be relied upon such illiterate characters?

To all these question, there is one answer, Pervez Khattak led PTI in KPK is strongly under the influence of wealth and sycophancy. Political experience, education, contribution has nothing to do in front of sycophancy and wealth and that is the prime qualifications for going up in the PTI. So change of faces is really there but the system is going on the old route. Wealth and wickedness with the addition of the spices of Sycophancy leads one to become Ziaullah Afridi.

Drunk PIA pilot held by UK police to appear before court Friday

LONDON: A pilot for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), who was arrested at a British airport on suspicion of being drunk is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court today (Friday).

Captain Irfan Faiz, 54, faces the charges of carrying out an activity ancillary to an aviation function while impaired by drink.

The airline said the pilot had been immediately grounded and said that if he was convicted of any offence in Britain, he would be sacked.

The exact circumstances of his arrest on Wednesday evening at Leeds Bradford airport in northern England were not clear, although the pilot was not thought to be flying at the time.

"At about 10pm last night police were called to Leeds Bradford International Airport where they arrested an airline pilot on suspicion of carrying out an activity ancillary to an aviation function while impaired by drink," police said.

"The 54-year-old man, from Pakistan, is currently in custody."

The airport refused to comment beyond saying it was aware of the incident and it was being dealt with by police.

But a spokesman for PIA, Pakistan's national carrier, told AFP: "We grounded the pilot, Irfan Faiz, immediately after receiving information about his arrest from Britain.

"The pilot will face legal proceedings in the UK and he will be sacked if convicted there.

"The PIA will not provide any legal assistance to Faiz and he will himself arrange such an assistance there."

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced plans earlier this month to sell off a 26 percent stake in the ailing national carrier, one of the poorest performing state-run companies in the country. (AFP)
