Indian Tennis star, Sania Mirza broke down into tears after facing severe criticism from BJP upon her appointment as a brand ambassador of the newly established Indian state Telangana. BJP has raise strong objections over her loyalty with the country by declaring her as "Daughter in Law of Pakistan" pointing to her marriage with the Pakistani cricket star Shoaib Malik.
In an interview with the NDTV, Mirza insisted that she is Indian and will be Indian and cautioned that after wedding with a Pakistani, she is still playing under Indian badge. She bursts at BJP for denouncing her appointment as brand ambassador. She told the reporter that she is playing for India from years and years and her services to the Indian image are more than the the BJP illiterate politicians.
“After playing for the country for many years, after saying time and again that I have an Indian passport, after winning medals for India after I got married, don’t know why I have to keep justifying that I am Indian,” said Mirza. The 27 years old star has got a passionate following around the world by becoming the only Indian woman to reach a grand slam competition.
